I think dharmaseed is missing in the list. It takes more budhist- teravada line but it is amazing with the quantity of tracks it has of many excellent teachers which include both teachings, and guided meditations recorded live.

This is an excellent resource. In my experience, guided meditation is great for beginners who are looking to get into the habit of meditating. As you become more accustomed to daily meditation, I recommend meditating without an audio guide.

These are the guided meditations and mindful hatha yoga practices that constitute the formal practice curriculum of MBSR: the Body Scan Meditation; Mindful Yoga 1; Sitting Meditation; and Mindful Yoga 2. Each is 45 minutes in length. They are described in detail in Full Catastrophe Living, and are optimally used in conjunction with that book.

These guided meditations are designed for people who want a range of shorter guided meditations to help them develop, expand, or deepen a personal mindfulness meditation practice. This series includes the Mountain and Lake Meditations (each 20 minutes) as well as a range of 10-minute, 20-minute, and 30-minute sitting and lying down practices. This series was originally developed to be used in conjunction with Wherever You Go, There You Are.

These guided meditations were originally developed to accompany Coming to Our Senses, and use the unique sensory idiom of that book. The practices include mindfulness of breathing (Breathscape); mindfulness of other body sensations (Bodyscape); mindfulness of sounds and hearing (Soundscape); mindfulness of thoughts and emotions (Mindscape), the practice of choiceless awareness (Nowscape); and a lovingkindness meditation (Heartscape). Also included is a brief guided walking meditation. All programs are 10 to 20 minutes in length.

This is a 34-minute guided meditation for people with psoriasis, based on a study Jon and his colleagues conducted [Kabat-Zinn et al, 1998] showing that people with psoriasis who were practicing mindfulness by listening to a guided meditation similar to this one while undergoing ultraviolet light phototherapy treatments experienced a significantly higher rate of skin clearing that those patients receiving the light treatment by itself.

The Seven Factors of AwakeningThe path of liberation laid out by the Buddha is not one of self-judgment,grasping, or acquisitiveness, but rather, one of balance. If we can bringour system into balance, it is believed, freedom, love and compassion willemerge. One essential way this balance is described is through the sevenfactors of enlightenment: mindfulness, investigation, effort, raptness, calm, concentration and equanimity. Over the course of these three sessionswe will emphasize practical means of developing and balancing thesequalities. This series was recorded over 3 nights at the New York Insight MeditationCenter. Each audio mp3 includes guided meditations, dharma talks, andquestion & answer sessions.

Guided imagery is a form of meditation that uses the mind to focus on positive images and thoughts, changing thinking patterns in order to promote well-being and relaxation. Through guided imagery and affirmations, you can use your mind as a complement to traditional medicine. It is a simple yet helpful tool for you to practice at your convenience.

Many guided meditation classes that made it into our top picks are available for free, but services like Headspace and Calm offer memberships in addition to free trials and select meditation recordings. The cost of in-person classes can range from $20 to $150, with an average of around $55 to $60 per class. This depends on the length of the meditation and the experience of the instructor. You can also download meditation apps, which range from free to $15 per month.

The advantage of guided meditations is that the narrator or teacher walks you through how to meditate, what to expect from your mind and body, and how you can apply what you learned in the meditation to your life. If your mind tends to wander during meditation, the guidance of an experienced teacher can help you focus and bring you back to the present moment. Meditation on your own is a good idea once you've done a few guided meditations, and don't need a guide to help get you to a focused place.

You can find guided meditations in a few different places. YouTube has many different guided meditations available. Both Jason Stephenson and The Honest Guys have their guided meditations available there. You can also find a number of guided meditation apps in your app store, like Headspace or Calm.

Dr Christopher Germer- author of mindful self compassion. (Around 20 free mp3s that include traditional mindfulness for beginners (body scan, mindfulness of breath, sounds etc.), lovingkindness and self-compassion infused practices).

Mindfulness is paying attention in three particular ways: on purpose, in the moment and without judgment. You can practice mindfulness of breathing, eating, bodily sensations (body scan), thoughts, emotions, communication (listening and speaking) and walking or other activities (such as yoga or tai chi). With more practice, you can become more mindful throughout the day, not just during formal practice periods.

Breath awareness is one of the foundational practices for mindfulness. This 10-minute practice invites you to become aware of your breathing, as well as becoming aware of how and when the mind pulls the attention away from the present moment. 2ff7e9595c
